Privacy Policy

Local-first by default. Your plants stay on your phone unless you choose to sync.

Last updated: 13 July 2026

Verdant is a local-first plant care journal for iOS and Android. This policy explains what stays on your device, what happens when you turn on optional cloud sync, what Premium AI sends, and what we never do.

In plain terms: no account is required to use Verdant. Nothing is sold, tracked, or advertised. Cloud sync and Premium AI are optional and only run when you turn them on.

Data stored on your device

By default, everything lives locally in the app’s storage:

If you never sign in, this data never leaves your phone.

Optional cloud sync

Cloud sync is off by default. When you turn it on and sign in with Apple or Google, Verdant backs up and syncs your plants, care history, and photos so they appear on your other devices.

Premium AI (optional)

When you use Premium AI — plant identify, care guide, coach, or collection insights:

Please don’t include sensitive personal information in AI prompts that you wouldn’t want processed by an AI provider. AI output is educational and not professional, veterinary, or medical advice.

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive entitlement status (whether Premium is active) from the store — we do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Analytics & advertising

Verdant contains no third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell your plant photos or data. If crash or performance tooling is added in a future build, it will be disclosed here first.

Children

Verdant is not directed at children under 13. Please don’t use Premium AI with a child’s personal information.
